The publication guidelines are really quite simple:
1. Limit yourself to 5 poems at a time.
2. Style and form don’t matter--I don’t want to stifle anyone’s creativity.
3. Try to limit the length. I might accept a long poem if it seemed exceptional--but Calliope has only
so much space.
4. I’m open to any subject matter but do feel that language should meet certain regulations. I don’t
want to censor anyone, but I don’t think some of the “good old Anglo-Saxon” epithets are
necessary. I don’t think Calliope should intentionally offend.
5. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. This outfit is run on a shoestring! We can’t support
everyone’s publishing habits, and why should we? (I admit it -- I’m less likely to publish poems
sent without SASE.)
